I am a 63yo learner after 30years in the army decided to go sailing. We have moved from a 20ft Nomad TS to the Tophat both my wife and I love sailing and wondered why we didn't do years ago.
The Tophat is currently moored at Gonsalve's in Pitt-water awaiting movement to Canada bay. Just making it safe to sail. Just had it anti-fouled and replaced all skin fittings with bronze. The boat was in a sad state when I purchased it but nothing a bit of hard yakka won't fix. Just finished going through the sails and cleaning them, I will possibly have to replace main soon.

Well done Simmo, you will not regret your choice of a Top Hat and you will have years of rewarding sailing (and tinkering with boat modifications) ahead of you. Don't worry about your age, I am a damn sight older than you and still sailing
